“I win. Again,” Sofia giggled.

They’d been playing Texas Hold ‘em for over an hour, using pennies, nickels, and dimes to bet. Sofia had won at least five bucks.

It was such a small amount, but it lifted her spirits. She didn’t have many friends and she was never left alone in the resort with sexy males. Her father was always watching, and she was careful not to make waves.

She’d thought, upon her arrival, she’d spend her first night getting what she physically needed. Instead, her emotions were being fed.

Adam and Eriq, despite being dominate males, were quite funny. Lucy was a sweetheart. Sofia, despite knowing this was a temporary stay, felt like she was with friends, one of which she very much wanted to be alone with.

Sofia’s laugh made Eriq feel good inside. It also made him hard as a rock. He liked entertaining her, making her feel joy, even if it was only because she was kicking his ass at cards.

He’d rarely spent time with females outside the club. Inside the club, the time he spent with them was usually because he was training them.

Occasionally, he hooked up with club members, but it was always a one-and-done thing. He hadn’t even been inside her yet, and he knew once wouldn’t be enough with Sofia.

Her eyes landed on his and both their grins faded. His severe countenance told her playtime was over. The air charged, thick and heated.

Adam noticed the change in Eriq. He tapped Lucy’s knee and she took the hint, standing quickly.

“I think Lucy and I are finished with cards for the evening. I need to get back to my shift, anyway,” he said.

Sofia and Eriq got up, too. Sofia wondered if Eriq was going to leave with them.

“Adam,” Eriq said, opening the door, “please make sure Lucy is fed. She’s been waiting all day and we’ve been negligent with her needs.”

“Of course. Good night, Sofia. I hope to see you soon.”

“Me, too,” Lucy said, grabbing Adam’s hand to hurry him along.

“Good night,” Sofia waved.

Eriq shut the door, pausing a moment with his back to Sofia. He was trying to reign in his lust.

“Are you,” she stammered, “are you staying?”

“I would like to, Sofia. If you don’t want me, tell me now. Because if I stay, I fully intend to fuck you.”

Sofia inhaled through her mouth, ineffectually attempting to slow her pulse.

“And if you leave?”

“Then I’ll bury myself in someone else and pretend it’s you. It won’t be the same, but I’m about to go out of my godsdamned mind if I don’t have you soon.”

His confession set her on fire. She knew how he felt, had tried to pretend with Mateo. It didn’t work. Nothing had ever been enough. She wanted Eriq to change that.

“I want you to stay.”

Her words broke him. He spun as she stepped forward, meeting him halfway. He picked her up and her hands slid around his neck.

Their kiss was voracious. Lewd. Out-of-fucking-control-wild.

For the first time in his life, he didn’t try to regulate. He wanted to feel her enthusiasm, to be on the receiving end of her passion.
